A Season of Renewal at The Fountains — Gratitude, Progress, and What Comes Next

November 5, 2025 by Dimitri

It’s been a while since our last community blog update, and as we catch up, there’s a lot to acknowledge — and even more to appreciate. Over the past several weeks, The Fountains has entered a new chapter, marked by visible engagement from the Board, new partnerships in management and legal representation, and a stronger sense of communication across our community.

For many of us who have followed The Fountains’ journey closely, these recent developments represent a meaningful step forward. The Board’s renewed outreach — through regular updates, weekend involvement, and open communication — has been both welcome and encouraging. It’s clear that the Board has made an effort to rebuild trust and restore stability after what has been a challenging period for our condominium.

A Fresh Start with New Leadership Partners

The most significant change, of course, has been the transition to Fairway Property Management, effective November 1, 2025. Fairway comes highly regarded for its boutique approach and commitment to personalized service. The Board’s decision to select a smaller, referral-based company signals a shift toward accountability and resident-focused management — qualities our community has long been eager to see in practice.

The change in property management follows another important update: the appointment of a new condominium law firm to represent the Corporation. This move, too, reflects a broader commitment to sound governance, transparency, and professional oversight — essential elements for any condominium seeking to move forward confidently and lawfully.

Visible Involvement and Responsiveness

Over the past month, the Board has shown a commendable level of responsiveness. Whether dealing with climate control issues, plumbing system emergencies, or general maintenance concerns, the Board has been present and proactive — even on weekends when the management office is closed.

We’ve seen direct communication regarding heating and cooling repairs, clear updates about system resolutions, and educational messages reminding residents of our shared responsibility in maintaining the building (for example, avoiding improper disposal that harms the plumbing system).

These communications may seem procedural, but they carry a deeper message: the Board is engaged, and it is acting swiftly when issues arise. This is something many residents have long hoped to see — a visible, communicative leadership that listens and responds.

A Thankful Community

It’s also worth acknowledging the thoughtful tone in the Board’s recent Thanksgiving message — a simple but heartfelt reminder of community spirit, gratitude, and resilience. Messages like these help humanize the administration of our condominium and remind us that behind every update and policy decision are people genuinely striving to make this a better place to live.

Looking Ahead: Transparency and Accountability

All these positive changes — a new management company, new legal counsel, and a more responsive Board — are encouraging signs that The Fountains is moving in the right direction. The invitation to residents to share ideas and feedback is another welcome initiative that reinforces the spirit of collaboration and inclusivity.

However, as a community, we are also mindful that one key matter remains pending: the long-overdue Annual General Meeting (AGM). This is the cornerstone of condominium governance — the moment when transparency, accountability, and resident participation come together.

The Board has mentioned plans to hold both a Town Hall and an AGM in the coming weeks, and we look forward to seeing those dates announced very soon. An open, well-organized AGM will not only fulfill our legal obligations but also serve as an opportunity to strengthen the renewed sense of trust and cooperation that’s emerging.

A Community in Progress

As residents, we want to express our sincere gratitude for the progress made and for the renewed communication we’ve seen. We also remain hopeful that this spirit of openness will continue — not just in times of transition, but as a defining characteristic of The Fountains moving forward.

It’s been said that strong communities aren’t built overnight — they grow through moments like these, when collective effort, transparency, and goodwill align.

Now, more than ever, residents are eager to participate, contribute, and move forward together. Announcing the AGM date soon would be an important and reassuring step — one that confirms this new chapter is built on openness, accountability, and collaboration.

So, to the Board: thank you for your engagement, your presence, and your work in recent weeks. And to our fellow residents: let’s continue to stay informed, stay respectful, and stay hopeful. The Fountains is moving toward a brighter and more accountable future — one step, one update, and one conversation at a time.
