And so it begins.
Yesterday, we hit our first real milestone: delivering door-hanger pamphlets to units across The Fountains.
It may seem like a small step, but it’s a powerful one – because it marks the moment we turned awareness into action. It’s the moment we started reaching out directly, unit by unit, neighbour to neighbour, building the movement from the ground up.
This isn’t just about flyers. It’s about waking up the voice of the owners – and judging by the response, people are ready. Ready for change, ready for transparency, and ready to take back their role in shaping how our condo is run.
As condo unit owners, we’re not just residents. We are shareholders. We own not only our individual units, but a piece of everything: the lobby, the elevators, the landscaping, the gym – even the structure itself. That ownership comes with rights, and we’re finally exercising them.
Let’s not forget:
While management answers to the Board, the Board answers to us – the owners. Under Ontario’s Condominium Act, the Board is elected by the unit owners, and must act honestly, in good faith, and in the best interest of the corporation – which is all of us.
We’re not just allowed to hold them accountable. It’s our right.
And we’re doing it the right way – peacefully, respectfully, and together.
This is about more than just complaints. It’s about accountability. It’s about asking questions that should’ve been answered long ago. For example:
Who approved the Balcony Project?
Who’s driving the Amenities Renovation scheduled to begin this September?
How much will it cost?
Will it raise our condo fees again?
Was anyone consulted?
Transparency means owners know what’s going on before things happen – not after. It means understanding the urgency, the cost, and the timelines behind major decisions. It means being heard.
We’re here to represent every owner who wants clarity, lower fees, and a voice in the future of our building. And if you’re reading this – that likely means you.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this first step. The pamphlets were just the beginning. And I believe that anyone at The Fountains, given the right tools and time, would be doing exactly what we’re doing now: uniting, informing, and protecting the place we all call home.
We’ve reached the first milestone – with more work and steady progress ahead.
Let’s walk this path together.
