We’ve come a long way in a short time.
This week marks another milestone in our movement: the launch of our second mass campaign. This time, we reached every mailbox at The Fountains with postcards. By now, you should have received one – if not, check your mail.
It’s been just over a month since our first campaign, when door hangers appeared on every suite on July 24. Since then, so much has happened. We’ve organized meetings, grown our WhatsApp group by more than 400%, built an active mailing list, and published articles to keep everyone informed and engaged. People who were strangers a month ago are now working side by side to improve our condo community. Step by step, our momentum is building.
Now, we stand at the threshold of the next big moment. We expect the Board of Directors to announce the date of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) following their August 28 meeting. Like many of you, we’re anxiously awaiting that announcement. But waiting does not mean standing still – we’re preparing.
In the coming days, we’ll share our roster of candidates for the two open board seats, along with an additional candidate who will be ready to step in should our requisition be successful. We’ll also announce our two trusted proxy holders who will safeguard your votes.
One important reminder: if you are an owner, please make sure your account with the condominium corporation is up to date. Any balance over 30 days will cause you to lose your right to vote at this AGM. Every voice matters, and we cannot afford to lose a single one.
The Goal: 250 Proxies
Our path forward is clear: we need 250 proxies. That’s the number that will ensure we have the majority needed to elect new board members and bring positive change to The Fountains. This isn’t just about a number on paper – it’s about giving our community the voice it deserves.
Tenants: You Have a Role Too
If you’re a tenant, you’re part of this story as well. You may not have a direct vote, but your voice carries weight. Talk to your landlord. Let them know about our movement and why it matters. One of our key goals is to control rising condo fees. Lower fees for owners mean more stable rents and less risk of increases in the years ahead. Your support could be the spark that inspires your landlord to submit their proxy and add one more vote for change.
Neighbors Talking to Neighbors
This effort is about more than signatures – it’s about community. Share the message with your neighbors. Strike up conversations in the elevator, the lobby, the gym, or the courtyard. Every friendly word spreads awareness and strengthens the ties that hold us together.
Every smile, every small act of encouragement, every time you say, “Have you heard about what’s happening?” – these are the building blocks of a stronger Fountains.
