At The Fountains, residents and owners are raising serious questions about ICON Property Management. Over the past months, multiple stories have surfaced – stories of delays, dismissals, and unresolved problems that leave both residents and condo corporation shareholders frustrated. Here are just a few examples:
Vadim, Building 75
In late January 2024, Vadim arranged for a package pickup but had to leave for work. Security refused to hold it, and management declined to help. By evening, the package had disappeared. Only after a long back-and-forth with security, police, and management did he finally get it back. Vadim described the process as frustrating and unacceptable, citing poor communication and accountability.
Larisa, Building 95
Just a month ago, Larisa shared a story from the end of August. Their electricity bill spiked from $50 to $150 in one month after carpet-drying equipment was placed near their meter closet in August. Evidence suggests it may have been connected to their unit’s power supply. When they raised the issue, staff brushed them off instead of investigating.
Closing Thoughts
These are just a few of the unresolved issues residents have shared. There are many more that I couldn’t include here in order to keep this post short. If you live at The Fountains – whether you own or rent – chances are you’ve seen or experienced problems of your own. As condo owners, we are also shareholders of the corporation. We are paying steeply rising maintenance fees while the reserve fund remains underfunded. Left unchecked, this combination affects not only the quality of our daily lives but also the long-term value of our units.
We all rely on prompt, professional responses when problems arise, especially urgent ones. Yet too often, delays and dismissals leave residents feeling ignored and shareholders frustrated. This isn’t sustainable – and it’s why our voices matter now more than ever. In the weeks leading up to the AGM, we will be organizing community events and discussions to make sure every resident has the chance to be heard. I will also be launching a community poll to gather your input directly. Please take part – share your story, join the conversation, and help shape the future of our community.
Together, we can ensure The Fountains is managed with the accountability, transparency, and care it deserves.
